Proudly supporting Telethon
Fogarty Wine Group is passionate about supporting Telethon. As a long-term supporter and official Wine Sponsor, it is with great pleasure Fogarty Wine Group can extend their commitment to the children of Western Australia and announce Fogarty Wines Art Barrels for Telethon – a fundraising initiative that hopes to raise several hundred thousand dollars for Telethon in the years to come.

The concept: Fogarty Wine Group will source the best of the best artists—locally, nationally and internationally acclaimed—to paint an original artwork for the Telethon auction, then replicate it on a wine barrel used to produce Fogarty Wine Group wine.

One lucky bidder will take home the painting. The identical art barrel will be placed on display at Millbrook Winery which over time will help form a distinctive art collection. As years go by and art barrels are added, Fogarty Wine Group will raise additional funds for Telethon through the art exhibition, which will also become a touring exhibition.

The inaugural barrel and painting has been kindly created by internationally acclaimed Australian artist Christopher Lees.

Peter Fogarty, Chairman of Fogarty Wine Group, said: “The project is something I have developed with David Jeary of Lexus Perth following seeing an exhibition of painted barrels in Europe. Our aim is to build a collection of 50 barrels or more with 4–5 auctioned annually in future years. Christopher Lees is a fantastic and highly regarded artist and his paintings are held in many collections across Australia. Christopher stayed at Millbrook Winery to create the first paining in the collection for Telethon’s tenth anniversary.”

“As a long-term advocate of Telethon, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in one of Western Australia's most pivotal children’s fundraisers,” said Lees.

“Telethon continues to play a valuable role in the facilitation of adequate health support services and relies upon new initiatives to reward the generosity of its donors. As such, I am honoured to be asked to champion the Fogarty Wines Art Barrels for Telethon project – a project that will be creating a part of history for not only Channel 7 Telethon but also the arts community of Australia. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to share their time and talent with Australia, and make a real difference."
