3 Gold Medals at the Swan Valley Wine Show 2023
We are ecstatic to announce that we have been awarded three Gold Medals at the Swan Valley Wine Show 2023. Not only that, but Millbrook was awarded third Best Overall Producer in the show this year!
Gold Medals (and 95 points) were awarded to:
- 2023 Regional Sauvignon Blanc (not yet released, shop 2022 here)
- 2022 Regional GSM
- NV Pedro Ximénez
Speaking on the win, Winemaker Emma Gillespie said: "The fortified classes really grabbed the attention of the judges this year. The Swan Valley is a strong competitor in this category and these wines were really celebrated in the show. To get a Gold Medal in this class, at this show, is a huge achievement. I am so happy that Millbrook has come in at third place for Overall Most Successful Producer too."
The Swan Valley is the oldest wine region in Western Australia and the annual Swan Valley Wine Show is recognised as being one of the premier regional wine shows in WA. 2023 marks the 35th Show, making this one of the oldest operating wine shows in Australia!
Competition is fierce; each year hundreds of wines are submitted into the show and this year the expert judges awarded just 41 Gold Medals to only the best wines from the Swan Valley and Greater Perth Zone.
A huge congratulations to Winemaker Emma Gillespie on this fantastic result.
2022 Regional GSM
Winner of the Best Value Wine at the Sydney Royal Wine Show 2023, the Regional GSM is a juicy, mouth-filling wine bursting with flavour and spice. As Halliday Wine Companion writer Erin Larkin said, "$25 is a steal."
NV Pedro Ximénez
Made using the incredible solera ageing method, this is a deeply golden, sweet, silky-smooth drop, bursting with toffee, apricots, raisins and roasted hazelnuts. The blend from a few years ago was awarded 97 points in the Halliday Wine Companion… and some say this current blend is even better!
