After spending time making wine with other prominent Australian producers, Damian joined the Millbrook team in 2002 and was promoted to Senior Winemaker in 2007. As a vocal advocate of the Perth Hills wine region and with a strong belief in the grow-it-yourself philosophy, Damian could not be better suited to Millbrook’s unique offerings. Damian is widely recognised for his passion and talents at producing award-winning wines from multiple regions around Western Australia. He was recently awarded Winery of the Year by Ray Jordan and has picked up multiple trophies on a national level for his extraordinary range of high quality wines.
Executive Chef - Fogarty Wine Group
At Millbrook Winery in Jarrahdale they serve estate-grown modern country food. While he features local artisan producers on the menu, the kitchen team are known for growing heirloom vegetables from saved seed in the property’s one acre garden. This approach to food has won much acclaim for the venue over the past 10 years under Guy’s guidance including a critics choice review in The New York Times, 2 hats in the Australian Good Food Guide and West Australian Chef of the Year.
At Bunkers Beach House, a casual seafood eatery, in Bunker Bay, they serve only West Australian seafood. While he uses vegetables grown at Millbrook Winery the kitchen team are known for serving only line caught or by-catch West Australian seafood. Guy has taken on this project in 2019 and in the first month been awarded #1 by the West Australian Good Food Guide Awards in the casual dining category.
At Evans and Tate in Margaret River Guy is about to launch a new picnic based menu specialising in house made cold cut meats, breads and vegetable/fruit preserves. Stay tuned.
John has been the Chief Viticulturist for the Fogarty Wine Group since 2002, overseeing the management of more than 350 hectares of premium vineyards throughout Western Australia, and buying fruit from over 65 growers. John’s interest in planting and training young vines is coupled with an ardent focus on innovation – wanting to give his winemakers the ability to create the best wines possible, he is constantly looking at ways to increase fruit quality. John has completed multiple degrees in viticulture and has an unmatched knowledge of some of the best vineyard sites across WA.
